MenuMeters is a set of CPU, memory, disk, and network monitoring tools for MacOS X. Although there are numerous other programs which do the same thing, none had quite the feature set I was looking for. Most were windows that sat in a corner or on the desktop, which are inevitably obscured by document windows on a PowerBook's small screen.

IPMenu 1.1

With IPMenu 1.1, you can instantly view and monitor your external and internal ip addresses. IPMenu 1.1 runs in the menu bar and has a very small footprint (CPU load). Internal ip addresses occur across local area networks and are generally assigned via DHCP by a router, whereas external ip addresses are assigned by the ISP.
Cee Pee YouPerformance Monitor
Cee Pee You is a Menu Extra that displays CPU(s) load in your menu bar. The load averages default to update every second, though this can be changed to any increment using the Cee Pee You GUI. CPU load is displayed as a percentage value in the Menu bar. Simple as that!
